Civil Protection Week - May 5 to 11th, 2024 :
"My safety: my responsibility!"

In 2023, Quebec faced major challenges in terms of natural disasters. Storms affecting several regions caused widespread power outages and significant property damage in some municipalities. Floods and forest fires forced the evacuation of thousands of people during the spring and summer. These events are a reminder of the crucial importance of community resilience in coping with disasters and the growing challenges posed by climate change.

In this context, Civil Protection Week 2024, under the theme "My safety: my responsibility", takes on all its importance. From May 5 to 11th, it's an opportunity to raise awareness and prepare to strengthen our resilience in the face of emergencies. This themed week provides a showcase for informing citizens, in particular about the importance of having an Emergency Kit, as well as a Household Evacuation Plan.

The week also encourages collaboration between the various players in civil protection, from municipalities to government agencies and local businesses. By working together, we strengthen our collective ability to anticipate, prevent and respond to crises, thereby contributing to the safety and well-being of society as a whole.
